Meniere's Disease, BPPV (Vertigo) and Dizziness - Look to the Neck.
The researchers in this study noted that there have long been associations between vertigo and dizziness conditions (including Meniere's Disease, BPPV and cervicogenic dizziness) and symptoms associated with a problem with the neck:
Neck pain
Headaches
Tight Muscles
Shoulder Asymmetry
What they did was look at a range of people with balance disorders (ages 15-75) and found overall an 82% association. The researchers then went on to propose that Meniere's, BPPV and Dizziness may not actually be different disorders at all but are actually THE SAME THING BUT WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MANIFESTATIONS FROM PERSON TO PERSON.
Furthermore, because of the associations with neck-related symptoms, they go on to propose that these disorders may have nothing to do with the inner ear, but instead may have everything to do with the health of your CERVICAL SPINE (aka neck).
This is not a new concept in Upper Cervical Chiropractic, which has been providing powerful outcomes and natural treatment for people with vertigo and dizziness for decades.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to see that more-and-more researchers are FINALLY coming on board that when it comes to helping people with dizziness and vertigo treatment, it is absolutely essential that the health of your neck is properly considered.
